What is a Voice Chat Room?

Voice Chat Room

During the live session, you have the option to switch to audio-only mode if you like. This makes it look like someone is just talking instead of a whole video being streamed. You interact with your visitors in ways such as messaging, making new friends, and so on. Yet, there is no video for you to see.

Video Room

It's similar to Multi-Guest rooms with video except that in a video-based room, everyone is supposed to show their faces.

Key Features of Voice Rooms

Compared with a larger space, a small gathering, say 4 people, is much more akin to doing a one-on-one interview or having a conversation with a small group of people. When you have 9 or 12 you almost have a group gathering with all the voices talking or maybe a panel where many different people are at once. It is very much a personal decision - which kind of room will best serve the purpose of your project - rather than a habit of always taking the largest.

Joining as a Listener

Getting into a room isn't complicated. Once you're in, here's what you can do:

• Browse the Popular or Nearby tab, or search "talk" or "chill" if you know what you're after
• Type in chat like any other stream
• Send a gift to the host if you feel like supporting them
• Tap the "+" icon on an open seat if you'd rather join in than just listen

If the room's already busy, you might have to wait in a queue before you get a seat. That's normal  it's how popular rooms keep things from turning into a free-for-all the moment a seat opens up.

Hosting Your Own Room

Setting one up takes about three taps: pick Audio Live, add a title, hit go live. From the management panel, you can:

• Choose your seat count
• Turn on the mic queue to keep join requests organized
• Hand out admin roles to people you trust
• Mute, kick, or block anyone causing problems

One feature that confuses people, a lot of hosts let admins join guests on a call, but they can't mute the mic or get someone out of the seat. So, that control stays with the host, no matter how many admins are doing the job in a room, and that makes the feature kind of a double-edged sword.

In many cases, hosts will let the queue auto-rotate the guests on a scheduledbasis. Such that, they are not manually managing every seat swap in the room. On the flip side, some will choose a manual seating selection to know at all times who is participating and for how long. Many regular hosts get to the point where they do a blend of both. That is, most of the time, automatic rotation, and occasionally, a manual selection, when there is a guest who is good to leave on a bit longer.

Keeping It Civil

Voice-only rooms only need to remember one thing: since there's no facial expression that can soften a joke that lands wrong for everyone then they know that tone is even more important than if it is on video. Hosts who get disturbed are in the guest role have the choice to use three tools:

• Mute - they stay in the seat but can't be heard

• Kick - temporary removal from the room

• Block - permanent, for repeat problems

A short line in the room description about what kind of conversation is welcome tends to head off a lot of that before it even starts.

Conclusion

Voice chat rooms on BIGO LIVE boil down to just a basic concept, you get to talk to real people with no camera pressure. Whether you're leading the room with a fully occupied queue and your admins supporting you or you're a guest simply joining someone else room to have a conversation, the way it goes remains pretty much the same. All the features surrounding voice chat like seats, queues, and admin roles are designed as a way of controlling big groups so that they don't just become total noise. Without these, one of the main aspects of the entire idea, which is just people talking to each other, still would remain. Save more on every BIGO Live top up with OLD STORE exclusive discounts.
