GTA 6 Release Date, Editions, Price & Platforms Explained

GTA 6 launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Here's everything confirmed so far — release date, editions, pricing, pre-orders, platforms, and what PC players should expect.

The Wait Is Almost Over — Here's What We Actually Know

After years of speculation, two trailers, and more fake leaks than anyone can count, Grand Theft Auto VI finally has a locked release date and pre-orders are officially live. November 19, 2026 is the day — and this time, it's not moving.

But between the delays, the edition confusion, and the constant rumor mill, it's hard to separate what's actually confirmed from what someone made up on Reddit. This guide cuts through all of that and gives you only what's been officially announced or reliably sourced — release date, platforms, pricing, editions, pre-order details, and what the PC situation actually looks like.

While we're all counting down the months, GTA V is still the best way to stay in Los Santos. If you haven't grabbed the Enhanced Edition yet — or you're looking for a fresh copy to hold you over — you can pick up GTA V Enhanced on OLD STORE at a great price. It's the definitive version of GTA V and runs beautifully on current-gen hardware. And honestly, revisiting Los Santos now is a pretty solid way to build hype while you wait for Vice City.

Let's break it all down.

GTA 6 Release Date — What's Confirmed

November 19, 2026

The date is finally set. Rockstar confirmed this after the game was delayed two times. The game was supposed to come out in Fall 2025. Then it was moved to May 26 2026.. Now it is coming out on November 19 2026. The CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick talked about the date when the company was discussing how money they made. He said it will be a big launch for the entertainment industry.

Rockstar said they are sorry for the delays. They said the extra time will make sure the game is as good as people expect from the Rockstar games. This game has been in the works, for a long time. So it probably will not be delayed again.. With Rockstar you never know for sure until you are playing the game on your screen.

Key Dates to Remember

• June 25, 2026 — Pre-orders officially open (today!)
• November 12, 2026 — Digital pre-load begins + physical copies available for pre-loading
• November 19, 2026 — Official worldwide launch

GTA 6 Platforms — Where Can You Play It?

Console Launch: PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

GTA 6 is launching exclusively on current-generation consoles. That means PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. No PS4, no Xbox One, no Switch. The game's technical scope — map density, NPC systems, draw distances — requires current-gen hardware, and Rockstar has been clear about that from the start.

Both Sony and Microsoft platforms get the game simultaneously on day one. No timed exclusivity deals have been announced.

What About PC?

The thing that PC players really do not want to hear is that there is no confirmed date for the PC version to be released. Rockstar has said that they will make a PC version of the game. They have not said when the PC version will be available to people who want to play it.

PC players will probably have to wait for a while. This is what happened with Grand Theft Auto V. It was a time before PC players could play Grand Theft Auto V. It took one and a half years for Grand Theft Auto V to be available on PC after it was released on consoles. The same thing happened with Red Dead Redemption 2 it took one year. Some people in the game industry think that the PC version will be released at the end of 2027 or at the start of 2028.. This is just what people think, it is not official from Rockstar, about the PC version.

If you play games on PC and you want something to play while you wait Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced is still a good game. It looks great. Runs well on PC. It is one of the games where you can explore a big open world. It is not Grand Theft Auto 6. It is the closest thing you can play until Rockstar says when Grand Theft Auto 6 will be available, on PC.

GTA 6 Price — How Much Will It Cost?

Standard Edition: Expected $69.99–$79.99

Rockstar hasn't told us the price yet. We will know the price when people can pre-order on June 25.

Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick gave us an idea of the price in an interview in March 2026. He said it would not be fair to have ads in a game that costs 70 or 80 dollars.

Games like this usually cost between 70 and 80 dollars, on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Some people said it would cost 150 or 200 dollars but that is not true. Many people have said that is not the case.

Ultimate Edition: Premium Content Bundle

Unlike previous Rockstar launches that offered multiple special editions, GTA 6 is keeping it simple with just two tiers — Standard and Ultimate. The Ultimate Edition includes premium vehicles, weapons, and apparel available throughout the story for both protagonists Jason and Lucia. A separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade will also be available for anyone who buys the Standard Edition first and decides to upgrade later.

Regional Pricing Estimates

• USA: $69.99–$79.99 (Standard)
• Europe: Placeholder listings around €79–€99 have appeared, though nothing is confirmed
• India: Roughly ₹5,500–₹6,000 estimated based on regional pricing trends

Wait for the official numbers on June 25 before committing to anything.

GTA 6 Editions Breakdown

Standard Edition

The base game — GTA 6 in its entirety with no additional extras. This is the edition most players will buy, and it includes the full story of Lucia and Jason in Leonida. No in-game currency bonuses, no exclusive vehicles, just the core game.

Ultimate Edition

The premium tier adds a collection of bonus content on top of the base game. While Rockstar is still rolling out details, the Ultimate Edition has been confirmed to include exclusive vehicles, weapons, outfits, and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia that aren't available in the Standard Edition.

Pre-Order Bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack

Anyone who pre-orders either edition gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, which includes:

• '55 Vapid Stanier sedan — a classic vintage car
• Shore Court personal garage — located near Ocean Beach
• Exclusive outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia
• Iconic weapon pattern themed around Vice City's golden era

The physical version of GTA 6 will contain a download code inside the box — there will be no disc. Both physical and digital versions support pre-loading starting November 12.

How to Pre-Order GTA 6

Pre-orders are live as of June 25, 2026. Here's how to secure your copy:

Steps to Pre-Order

1. Open the PlayStation Store (PS5) or Microsoft Store (Xbox)
2. Search for Grand Theft Auto VI
3. Choose your edition — Standard or Ultimate
4. Complete the purchase
5. The game will appear in your library and begin pre-loading on November 12

Tips Before You Pre-Order

• Top up your wallet first — Load funds onto your PlayStation or Xbox account ahead of time so checkout is instant when the listing goes live

• Digital vs. Physical — Digital guarantees pre-load access and instant play at launch. Physical copies are available from select retailers but remember there's no disc — just a download code inside the box

What We Know About the Game Itself

Setting: Leonida and Vice City

GTA 6 takes place in the fictional state of Leonida — a neon-soaked, Florida-inspired open world anchored by a reimagined Vice City. Think modern-day Miami with Rockstar's signature satire cranked up to eleven. The map is reportedly far larger than GTA V's, with Rockstar committing to years of post-launch content including new cities and missions added over time.

Protagonists: Lucia and Jason

For the first time in GTA history, the game features a female co-lead. Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval were introduced in Trailer 1 (December 2023) and further developed in Trailer 2 (2025). Their dynamic — a Bonnie-and-Clyde-style criminal partnership — is the narrative core of the game.

Post-Launch Content

Rockstar has explicitly stated they want the GTA 6 world to grow over time rather than shipping a static map. Expect ongoing updates with new areas, missions, and content — similar to how GTA Online expanded GTA V's world, but reportedly on a much larger scale.

Should You Pre-Order or Wait?

Pre-Order If:

• You know you're buying the game regardless and want to lock in your copy
• You want the Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus
• You prefer digital pre-loading so you can play the moment servers go live on November 19

Wait If:

• You want to see reviews and launch-day performance before committing
• You're a PC player — there's nothing to pre-order yet
• You're not sure which edition you want and would rather see final pricing confirmed first

Historically, Rockstar pre-order bonuses have eventually become purchasable in-game, so there's no hard FOMO argument for buying day one. The Vintage Vice City Pack is nice, but it's not going to make or break your experience.

Final Thoughts

After more than a decade since GTA V, the next chapter of Grand Theft Auto is finally within reach. November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S — no more delays, no more speculation. Pre-orders are live today, pricing should land between $70–$80 for Standard and higher for Ultimate, and PC players are looking at a late 2027 or 2028 arrival based on Rockstar's track record.

The hype is real, and it's earned. This is the biggest game launch of the decade, full stop.

While you're counting down the months, there's never been a better time to revisit the game that started it all for this generation. Grab GTA V Enhanced on OLD STORE and enjoy Los Santos at its best on current-gen hardware — it's the perfect warm-up before Vice City opens its doors.

See you in Leonida.
