Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 1.5.6 Update: What to Know

On June 30, 2026, Sandfall Interactive dropped the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 1.5.6 tupdate. Some time ago, the developer also released the Anniversary Update with some content to enjoy. So how about the update this time?

This article talks about the latest Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 1.5.6 update and all there is to know about it. Those who are interested in trying can get the best deal on Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Game Keys on the reputable and trusted place, OLD STORE .

Expedition 33 1.5.6 Patch - Language Support

There’s a long list of patch notes from the 1.5.6 update, but let’s talk about them one by one. The first, and probably the biggest one from this update, is the support for the Arabic language. Fans in the UAE can now enjoy the game more natively.

For your information, Clair Obscur: Expedition already has 20 languages supported with both English and French voice-overs. The list includes Indonesia, European Spanish, Latin American, and now Arabic.

Players can easily switch between the two voice languages, as well as the languages for the menu and subtitles. However, do note that there are only English and French voices here, so your chosen language other than those two will affect the UI only.

Gameplay Fixes and Adjustments

Other than the language, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 1.5.6 update also fixed some issues regarding the gameplay. Some bugs have been fixed as well. One example is the bug that happens when you apply Burn to a stunned enemy.

Before the update, applying the burn would make the enemy recover from their stunned status. The 1.5.6 patch also affects the weapon effects. The most well-known bug is for Cleim’s Level 10 Lumina, which wouldn’t trigger in an area full of visual effects.

There’s also an adjustment to make the battle difficulty a little bit more accessible for more players. For example, the jumping attack from Chromatic Lampmaster has a sound cue now. So players may survive better by listening to this sound, rather than relying on the visuals alone.

A sound effect was also added to the Sirene’s Widow Ballet, especially for the second charm attack. Thanks to this update, Martenon’s Lumina effects will work more correctly now.

There’s also a fix regarding the Level 4 Lumina Effect. Now, the buffs from Pictos and Luminas won’t overwrite each other at the early start of the battle. A buggy photo mode was also fixed to remove the issue where characters have different heads during combat.

How Does The Game Run on PC?

Developers always added fixes and patches to improve the game’s performance. But are they necessary for the PC version of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?

The game’s performance on PC is quite good, especially knowing that it runs on Unreal Engine 5, the most demanding engine that could easily run poorly if not optimized. Mid-range PCs can run the game with no problem at all.

Most players can run this game at most optimal performance with upscaling technologies, like FSR and DLSS, to keep the frame rates stable. However, there’s one huge problem: crashing.

Many players have reported unusual crashing issues in the game. The crashes mostly consist of fatal errors, abrupt stalls, and system freezes during gameplay.

The threads link these problems with power spikes of the GPU, corrupt shader files, or simply overheating. With this issue, not a few players have abandoned the game ever since.

Knowing the issue very well, Sandfall Interactive has provided some recommendations regarding the crashing problems. Until they come up with a fix, players are advised to put Global Illumination below Epic settings.

Anniversary Update

On April 24, 2026, the developer released the Anniversary Update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This gift from Sandfall Interactive from celebrating the 8 million copies sold, consists of several new hairstyle cosmetics for your party, along with a few bug fixes and QOL improvements.

The hairstyles will make Gustave and the party ready for the upcoming award show. There are a few ways you can get these hairstyles, one from the Gestral Merchant near Stone Wave Cliff and the other near Grosse Tête.

This update also fixed some bugs that were known to be interrupting the gameplay. One of the most notable issues is a fix for a visual bug in the Danseuse outfit that makes some characters’ menu become overly obscure.

Some other issues that were fixed in the Anniversary Update were the problem regarding opening a rest point during a dialogue and collision issues that happened in some environments.

Conclusion

So, what do you think about the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 1.5.6 update? While it doesn’t introduce us to something completely new, having regular updates from the developer is always appreciated to make the game more stable and accessible for all players.
