Let's break down the smart buys.

What Is the Sneaky Goblin Mini-Medal Event?

The event is pretty simple for people who are just starting.

The Sneaky Goblin Mini-Medal Event goes from July 8 to July 17 2026. People with Town Hall 8 and above can do it. So you get Mini Medals when you do well in attacks then you can use them at the Trader Shop to buy things like Hero Skins or Potions or Hero Equipment.

The Sneaky Goblin Mini-Medal Event is called that because it is actually an idea. The goblins are not expensive to send out so even people with sized bases can get a lot of Mini Medals easily. That is why the Sneaky Goblin Mini-Medal Event starts at Town Hall 8. There are a lot of things happening in July like Summer Jams Elixir Quest and the 1-Gem Goblin Researcher but the Trader Shop is where you really have to think about what to do, with your Mini Medals.

How to Farm Mini Medals Efficiently

Before you can spend smart, you need to stack medals. Here's how to do it without wasting time.

Use Sneaky Goblins for Fast Farming

The event is built around Sneaky Goblins for a reason — they're cheap, fast, and perfect for the quick raids that rack up event progress. Running Sneaky Goblin armies lets you cycle through attacks rapidly, earning medals far faster than slower, heavier compositions. You don't need a complex army here; efficiency and speed win.

Play Consistently Across the Window

The event runs nine days, so spreading your farming across that window keeps the grind manageable. Complete the event tasks throughout the active period rather than cramming everything into the final day. Consistent daily attacks stack up quickly, and you'll hit the full reward track without stress.

Stack It With Other July Events

Since the Sneaky Goblin event overlaps with Summer Jam and other July content, your farming attacks can pull double duty. Loot gained from your medal-farming raids feeds directly into the Summer Jam discount upgrades you should be running anyway. One efficient session, multiple progress bars moving at once.

Best Trader Shop Buys — What to Prioritize

This is the heart of the guide. The golden rule of every medal event: check the full shop before spending a single medal. Blowing your medals on common resources and coming up short for the exclusive rewards is self-inflicted damage. Here's the priority order that actually maximizes value.

Priority 1: Exclusive Hero Skins and Sceneries

The Sneaky Goblin event brings Legendary Hero Skins and Sceneries to the shop that you can't easily get any other way. These are your top priority for one simple reason: exclusivity. If you miss a limited cosmetic now, it typically won't return for months — and when it does, it's often locked behind a hefty Gem price instead.

For F2P players especially, grabbing an exclusive skin with event medals is almost always better value than paying Gems for it later. If there's a skin or scenery you want, secure it first before spending on anything else.

Priority 2: Hero Equipment (If It's Meta for You)

The shop may include Hero Equipment, which can be excellent value — but only if it's equipment you'll actually use. Don't buy shiny new gear just because it's there. Research what's meta for your Town Hall level and attack strategies, then pick up the equipment that fits your lineup.

If the featured equipment isn't useful for your attacks, skip it and redirect those medals toward better long-term value (which we'll get to below).

Priority 3: Builder Potions (Huge Value for Lower Town Halls)

If you're below the highest Town Hall tiers, Builder Potions are one of the best medal buys in the game. At a low medal cost each, one Builder Potion shaves 9 hours off each builder's timer — so with six builders active, a single cheap potion translates to more than two full days of construction saved at once.

The math here is genuinely excellent, and it's the kind of steady progression value that compounds over a whole account's lifetime. Grab these if you've got builders running.

The Ore Strategy for Higher Town Halls

If you're an advanced player who doesn't need the cosmetics or equipment, there's a smart default: dump your remaining medals into Glowy Ore (or Shiny/Starry Ore depending on availability). At the top Town Hall tiers, Ore is what everyone runs short on when leveling Hero Equipment — so once your must-buys are locked in, funneling whatever medals are left into Ore is the smartest long-game move.

Priority 4: The Gem Farming Loop

Here's a trick a lot of players miss. You can buy Clock Tower Potions and Resource Potions from the Trader with medals, then sell them for Gems. This nets you a meaningful chunk of Gems per event on top of your normal Gem income — a quietly efficient way to build toward Gem purchases like the Goblin Builder or Gold Pass.

What to Avoid Buying

Knowing what to skip is just as important as knowing what to grab.

Raw Resources

The single worst medal buy. Dropping a big chunk of medals on a lump of Gold or Elixir is terrible value — a couple of quick Goblin runs will replace that loot in no time. Handing over event currency for something a short farming session covers is just throwing value away.

Clan Castle Troops

Convenient, but a trap. Spending medals on Clan Castle troops wastes a progression resource on something your clanmates should be donating for nothing. If your clan isn't active enough for donations, that's a clan problem to solve — not a reason to waste medals.

Wall Rings (Usually)

Wall Rings aren't awful, but the medal-per-value ratio is worse than just buying Training Potions and farming the wall loot yourself. Unless you're desperate to finish walls, your medals are better spent elsewhere.

Tips to Maximize the Event

Always Survey the Full Shop First

It bears repeating because it's the number one mistake: scroll through the entire Trader Shop before spending anything. Map out what you want — exclusive skins, useful equipment, Builder Potions, Ore — and spend in priority order so you never come up short on the good stuff.

Match Your Buys to Your Town Hall

Lower Town Halls get the most from Builder Potions and Ore, while higher Town Halls should prioritize Ore and any meta equipment. There's no single "best" buy — it depends on where you are in your account's progression.

Don't Skip the Event Even If You Skip the Cosmetics

Even if the featured skins and equipment don't appeal to you, the medal shop is still one of the few places to bypass the daily Star Bonus grind for Ore and potions. Participate, farm your medals, and convert them into long-term value regardless.

Spend Before the Event Closes

The event ends July 17, and any medals you don't spend are effectively wasted. Set a reminder to clear your medals on your priority buys before the shop disappears.

Final Thoughts

Approached the right way, this event pays off handsomely. The winning routine looks like this: grind your medals quickly through cheap Sneaky Goblin runs, then treat the shop as a ranked list rather than a grab bag. Anything exclusive and cosmetic goes at the top, equipment you'll genuinely field comes next, and whatever's left flows into Builder Potions or Ore that quietly push your account forward for months. Steer clear of the medal sinks — lumps of Gold, borrowed CC troops, and Wall Rings rarely earn their price.

The habit that ties it all together is patience at the storefront: look before you leap, weigh each purchase against where your village actually is, and empty your medal stash on the good stuff before the shop vanishes on July 17. Handle it that way and the event leaves you meaningfully stronger instead of holding a receipt for resources you'll never notice.

And when you're ready to grab the Gold Pass or top up Gems, OLD STORE has the best Clash of Clans rates around — up to 22% off means more value for every purchase.

In, out, pockets full. See you on the battlefield, Chief.
