Honkai: Star Rail 4.4 Anomaly Arbitration Guide: Best Teams, Boss Tips & Rewards

Introduced in Version 3.6 and returning with a new rotation in Version 4.4, Anomaly Arbitration remains one of the toughest endgame challenges in Honkai: Star Rail. This mode tests how well players can build, manage, and split multiple teams across three Knight encounters before facing the final King in Check boss. In this Anomaly Arbitration 4.4 guide, we will cover the best teams, key boss tips, stage strategies, and rewards to help you clear each battle more efficiently and claim the available rewards.

Anomaly Arbitration Overview

Anomaly Arbitration is currently one of the hardest endgame challenges in Honkai: Star Rail. The mode requires players to clear three separate Knight encounters, each using a different team, for a total of up to 9 stars. After defeating all three Knights, players can move on to the final King in Check stage, where only one team is needed. It is also possible to challenge King in Check: Plight before clearing every Knight stage, but this version is much harder and is mainly designed for highly invested teams. For most players, it is better to finish the three Knight battles first to unlock the easier final fight and improve their chances of clearing the mode.

Knight 1

Enemies

Enemies
Abundance Sprite: Malefic Ape
Senior Staff: Team Leader
Argenti

Stage Info

Enemy Traits
Taunting	Enemy target takes immediate action after being attacked 6 time(s). This tally resets at the start of the enemy target's turn.
Recommended Elements

Team Recommendation

For Knight I, these teams work well because the stage favors Fire and Ice damage while also rewarding strong Follow-Up and Elation-based setups. Ashveil + Mortenax Blade is one of the strongest options, as it can take advantage of the season effects and maintain high damage pressure with Tribbie and Hyacine.

Saber + Gilgamesh is another strong offensive option, especially with Mortenax Blade adding extra pressure and Huohuo helping with healing and Energy support. Himeko • Nova is also a great Fire option for clearing both waves, especially with Sunday and Sparkle boosting her damage while Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae keeps the team protected.

Evernight is a solid Ice/Remembrance choice, offering stable performance with Cyrene, Trailblazer Remembrance, and Hyacine. The main mechanic to watch out for is Taunting. Since enemies take immediate action after being attacked 6 times, make sure your sustain is ready and avoid unnecessary hits before your main damage window, especially against Argenti in Wave 2.

Knight 2

Enemies

Enemies
Joy Ascendant
God-Devourer Offspring
Svarog

Stage Info

Enemy Traits
Depowered	When entering combat, reduces ally target's Energy by 50% and decreases their Energy Regeneration Rate by 50% outside of their turn for 2 turn(s).
Flow Break	Each time after an enemy target is attacked by allies, DMG taken by them decreases by 2% and CRIT DMG taken decreases by 4%, stacking up to 10 time(s). This effect changes to decreasing by 5 stack(s) after the enemy target receives a Follow-Up ATK or when Aha Instant ends.
Recommended Elements

Team Recommendation

For Knight II, these teams work well because the stage favors Fire and Lightning damage while strongly rewarding Follow-Up ATK setups. Ashveil + Mortenax Blade is one of the strongest options, since this team can take advantage of the season effects and reduce the impact of Flow Break with frequent Follow-Up damage.

Silver Wolf LV.999 teams provide strong debuff support and flexible damage, while Himeko • Nova is a great Fire option for dealing with both waves, especially with Sunday and Sparkle boosting her damage. Acheron is also a solid choice for this stage because she is less affected by Depowered, allowing her to keep good damage pressure even when Energy recovery is reduced.

The main mechanic to watch out for is Flow Break. Since enemies take less damage after being attacked, try to trigger Follow-Up Attacks often and avoid wasting too many weak hits. Save your strongest damage window for Svarog in Wave 2, as he has the highest HP in this Knight stage.

Knight 3

Enemies

Enemies
Daybreak Squadron: Azurewing
Noontide Gryphon
Paramount Bliss Inverted: Illwish Archlotus

Stage Info

Enemy Traits
Hemovore	At the start of ally targets' turns, they lose 500 HP. This effect can be fatal.
Recommended Elements

Team Recommendation

For Knight III, these teams work well because the stage favors Physical and Imaginary damage while also requiring strong sustain due to Hemovore. Phainon is one of the strongest options here, especially with Cyrene and Cerydra boosting his damage while Hyacine keeps the team safe through the constant HP loss.

Evanescia teams can also perform well thanks to the support from Trailblazer Elation and Yao Guang, giving the team strong offensive pressure while Huohuo provides healing and Energy support. Silver Wolf LV.999 is another flexible option, offering useful debuffs with Sparxie and Yao Guang helping increase overall damage. Mydei is also a strong pick for this stage, especially with Cyrene and Tribbie supporting his damage while Hyacine handles the sustain.

The main mechanic to watch out for is Hemovore. Since allies lose HP at the start of their turns and this damage can be fatal, reliable healing is very important. Try to avoid entering Wave 2 with low HP, and make sure your sustain is ready before fighting Paramount Bliss Inverted: Illwish Archlotus.

King In Check

Enemies

Enemies
Moonlit Pegasus
Dark Sun Gryphon
Murata Graphia, Founding Artist

Stage Info

Enemy Traits
Enrage	After each time an ally target uses their Ultimate, applies 1 stack of this effect to all enemy targets. Each stack increases the enemy target's SPD by 30%, up to a max of 4 stack(s). All stacks are cleared at the start of the enemy target's turn.
Equilibrium	At the start of battle, 1 ally character with the highest SPD has their SPD reduced by 20%, and 1 ally character with the lowest SPD has their SPD increased by 15%.

Available Buffs

Team Recommendation

For King in Check, these teams work well because the stage favors Fire and Quantum damage while also requiring careful Ultimate timing due to Enrage. Archer is one of the strongest options here, especially with Cyrene and Sparkle helping him deal consistent damage while Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae keeps the team protected.

Himeko • Nova is a great Fire option for this stage, especially against Murata Graphia, Founding Artist in Wave 2. Evanescia teams can also perform well with Trailblazer Elation and Yao Guang, while Silver Wolf LV.999 provides strong debuff support and flexible Quantum damage. Castorice is another strong choice, especially with Cyrene, Evernight, and Hyacine supporting her damage and survivability.

The main mechanic to watch out for is Enrage. Since enemies gain SPD every time an ally uses an Ultimate, avoid using Ultimates randomly. Save your strongest damage windows for Break phases or when you are ready to finish a wave, especially against Murata Graphia in Wave 2.

The Knight stages require careful lineup planning, since you need multiple different teams before reaching the final King in Check boss.
